Peer Viewed Body Parts of a Work is an amalgamation of three artwork mediums investigating the concept of the hearing-led industry centering on the medical model of deafness, with the express purpose of “fixing” deaf children, using hearing-led academic research to justify their decisions. Old research is revived time and time again using small sample numbers, to ignore the “failures”, with no insight into long-term effects.

These research are peer reviewed by more hearing academia, with no acknowledgement of deaf academia, epistemology or the Milan 1880 conference. Hearing professionals still rally against learning sign language, demonstrating surdophobia in their baseless fear that deaf children will not learn speech and fail in becoming part of their “normal”.

The question is how many deaf children are broken to gratify the hearing academia, the hearing medical professionals, the hearing 99% that shapes the society where we live in?
